Signing with CAA
================

Signing with CAA describes the commercial representation John Kiriakou took on in 2026 following the sudden virality of clips from his podcast appearances.

The sequence

Kiriakou attributes the change to a chain of appearances beginning with Joe Rogan and ending with the wide circulation of short clips. He has said that as a result he was signed by the Creative Artists Agency, which would now represent him in everything, books, Hollywood, consulting and licensing.

The advertising approaches

He has described receiving a great many advertising pitches. Asked what they were for, he said that on the day of the interview alone he had received about six: three from different pharmaceutical companies, one from a vineyard, one from a men's clothing line, and one from Warby Parker, his second approach from a spectacles company.

The first, he explains, came from Tom Ford. He had simply happened to choose Tom Ford frames, and somebody at the company recognised them as their own and asked whether he would do a print layout. He said yes. He acknowledged that the two eyewear approaches were mutually exclusive.

What he has refused

Kiriakou has been explicit about at least one refusal, in the parallel context of the personalised video service Cameo: a man who wanted him to endorse a meme coin. His answer was absolutely not, he said he had enough trouble in his life without adding the Securities and Exchange Commission to it.

By contrast he agreed to endorse an eleventh-grader for junior class president at a California high school, observing that the boy's fee had done the talking.
