The hundred-city tour
=====================

Interviewed in February 2026, John Kiriakou mentioned in passing that he was starting "this hundred-city, year-long, round-the-world speaking tour."

The itinerary

By that point he had already given speeches in Belfast, Dublin and Manchester, and was going back to Scotland and northern England within a couple of weeks. After that the tour was to cover the United States and Canada, then Australia and New Zealand, then continental Europe, the Persian Gulf and East Asia. He directed listeners to tigerslanestudio.com for details.

Where it sits in his working life

Lecturing has been a fixture of Kiriakou's income since his release. Describing how he rebuilt after prison, he lists the components: books, lectures mostly at American universities and increasingly in Europe, two syndicated newspaper columns and a radio show, "you have to patch things together little by little," with cash flow the hardest part.

A hundred-city tour is a considerable escalation of that pattern, and it runs alongside a broadcasting slate he described in the same interview: the podcast Deep Focus with John Kiriakou, and a show called CIA Declassified on the online platform Unified Television, then in its second season, which uses declassified CIA documents to examine historic episodes, the 1953 overthrow of the Iranian government, the 1973 overthrow of the Chilean government, MK-ULTRA, UFOs.

The purpose he assigns to it

Kiriakou's stated theory of what public speaking is for predates the tour by many years. Whistleblowers, he argues, cannot reach a country all at once and must educate people one at a time, which is why he treats access to audiences and to the press as the thing that decides whether a case is understood or forgotten.

The advice he says his first wife gave him at his lowest point is the same idea in another form: keep talking about it even after they have stopped talking about it, because eventually your side of the story becomes the side of record.
