GeoRisk Solutions
=================

GeoRisk Solutions is the consulting firm John Kiriakou co-founded with the dean of the graduate intelligence studies programme at the University of Salamanca, where Kiriakou teaches.

Formation

Kiriakou says he and the dean, who are good friends, decided to try their hand at establishing a consulting firm. They brought in the American privacy researcher Sean O'Brien, a professor at Yale, along with a professor from Chile, one from the United States, and a former assistant secretary of state who Kiriakou noted had joined the firm that same day.

What the firm sells

The stated business is to provide cost-effective political risk analysis to companies, firms, banks, mutual funds, in Kiriakou's phrase, everybody that needs a deep view of what is happening either around the world or very specifically about a certain area.

Kiriakou reported that the venture was going well so far. It had been established only within the past year, had just completed its first contract, was moving quickly into a second, and was expanding, with offices both in Salamanca and in Washington, D.C. Asked to name it, he initially could not recall having given the name and had to check with O'Brien before confirming it as GeoRisk Solutions.

The firm sits alongside Kiriakou's other post-agency work with O'Brien, including the seminars on surveillance and anti-surveillance the two were then advertising.
