Anthony Fauci
=============

Anthony Fauci is an American physician and public-health official. John Kiriakou discussed him at length only once in the available corpus, a short Fox News segment on 14 May 2026, following testimony by an unnamed government witness, and the discussion turned entirely on the pardon Fauci received rather than on the conduct alleged against him.

"You liar"

Kiriakou's objection is stated as a family one before it is stated as a political one. "My cousin George was the second person in the state of Ohio to die of COVID back in very early 2020," he said. "That death still stings all of us in our family." He had recorded the same loss six years earlier, in the first weeks of the pandemic, naming a friend killed by the disease alongside his cousin.

From that he drew the personal verdict that gave the segment its title: "I can't help but look at Doctor Fauci and think, you liar, look what you've done to our country."

The pardon

Kiriakou's substantive complaint is procedural, that the pardon foreclosed any accounting. Fauci, he said, "was auto-penned right into freedom and wealth and untold riches in his retirement. That is unacceptable."

He set that outcome directly against the position of the witness whose testimony prompted the segment. That man, Kiriakou said, had done "a very brave thing" and "put his reputation on the line", and "will probably never work in government again because of it", the asymmetry Kiriakou has described across many other cases of whistleblower prosecution. His summary of the affair was a maxim rather than an allegation: "At the heart of this story is that it's always best to tell the truth. The truth always comes out."

What Kiriakou did not say

The host's framing of the segment included the claims that the virus had been "cooked up in a lab" and that Fauci "may have killed 1 million Americans." Kiriakou adopted neither. He offered no account of the origin of the virus, and no estimate of a death toll attributable to Fauci; his own assertions were limited to his family's loss, to the bravery of the witness, and to the pardon.
