[11:22] status and they want it stat because refugee status is what will prevent me from living under threat of detention and deportation secondarily we want Asylum status because achieving temporary asylum will give me a temporary residency which will mean my kids can go to school I can use the bank in the post office and all the basic public services that you really need to have access to and what have any kind of standard of living and to be able to
[11:53] earn money again and to be able to be a productive citizen again not that my journalism and activism isn't being a productive citizen but you think you guys understand what I mean so those are the two things from the immediate legal perspective then the third thing is that we want redress we want justice and that's where Craig tuck comes in because we over the coming months will be um executing a series of plans strategic
[12:25] litigation as Craig would say to try to get that redress and to try and hold the people who destroyed my life and New Zealand's accountable for what they did to myself my chill and not just it's not just myself and my children it's my entire family I don't speak often about my family but my parents who are both retired and have kept me alive with their retirement savings for a long time now and that is incredibly difficult for them and to
[12:56] come from lower middle class to middle-class background growing up my parents worked for 35 years for to have those savings to be able to sustain themselves during that retirement and so my goal if I ever managed to tree any of the funds that have been cost me which because I did it cost me my house and my everything I owned all of my assets that I had in New Zealand and not to mention my sizable income has been the financial impact of the
[13:28] targeting of me if I ever do get that back right absolutely and will be paying on my parents back the funds that they have had to take from their retirement in order just to keep myself and the kids in one piece and still able to function other friends and family have also supported me and that's the only reason I'm still sitting here today is that I've had that support and I am eternally conscious of how many activists don't have that how many homeless activist students even though I
[13:58] that I worked with in New Zealand who were targeted who didn't have any family support whatsoever and those there are for every one of me that is sitting here able to dodge a campaign like this and able to fight you know looked to have legal fights in to seek redress there are thousands of us that make it that far there are activists who kill themselves activists who are killed there are activists who burn out who could bankrupt or hospitalized who are institutionalized
[14:29] there are thousands and I really am so privileged and lucky to even have made it this far to still be able to function at all I am so so so so privileged so I want to acknowledge all of those people that don't have what I have and haven't been able to make it out of their situations of being physically targeted um I want to knowledge all of the people that have come together to make this a success not just those who are on the
[15:01] stream tonight but the many activists behind the scenes who have been doing all kinds of things to even get us to the point of launching this campaign because I consider even to have a campaign launched to be a success despite the fact that we haven't yet met that aims so that's my primary consideration as getting refugee status which is going to require engaging with the UNHCR internationally because we've been completely at the local level and applying some political pressure of our own back to make that happen and then hopefully
[15:33] being able to successfully file my new asylum application here on the 27th and present a new evidence and and follow that pathway the third thing is obviously we have got to raise financial support not just because I face eviction every month if I don't pay my rent but because in order to pursue legal redress and remedy is going to cost likely hundreds of thousands of dollars but certainly tens of thousands of dollars
[16:03] it has to be an expensive and long process this campaign is going to have to run into the years rather than the months and so we need to if we want to have these big wins if we want to set precedents if we want to hold these agencies to account it's going to have to be sustained and continuous fundraising going on from this point to be able to resource that fight and if we win it I can guarantee you every dollar that we've had to spend will be worth it because it is time it's time that these
[16:36] people were no longer allowed to get away with the crimes that they have been perpetrating against citizens and not just myself I'm thinking of every person I've known who's been targeted and every person I don't know who has targeted and I believe into the millions worldwide so I mean we know there's two million on the FBI watch list in America and that's just for starters let alone internationally so those are the first three things in order refugee status Asylum status and funding for sustaining
[17:09] myself and my children but more importantly the legal campaigns going forward to achieve redress now tactical things that you can do especially if you can't give money and you don't feel able to assist the legal campaign in any way there's really basic things you can do which is just tweeting sending messages to the hashtag raising awareness on social media following the Facebook account 1vs5 a are following the Twitter account looking at the website the website one Viacom has a whole list of things that
[17:41] you could do actions that you can take sharing that short seven-minute campaign video that was a beginning of the stream and that will play again at the end of the stream it's an amazing thing put together a huge amount of work went into it I've got to shout out Quinn Peterson propaganda propaganda and Copa Ramirez Oh two of them worked for six eight weeks to put that video together and it is the most professionally produced video today explaining what I was blowing the whistle on and showing the
