Alec Baldwin is the actor with whom John Kiriakou recounts a bitter feud. An Academy Award-winning writer had wanted to build an off-Broadway play around Kiriakou’s case with Baldwin; at their first lunch in New York, Baldwin listened to Kiriakou’s stories and said, “I think you’re full of shit,” and the meeting ended with mutual curses and Kiriakou walking out.[1][2][3] Baldwin later warmed to the pitch and attached himself to a TV project based on Kiriakou’s story that had been picked up by AMC — but then dropped out to take an HBO role playing a CIA director, killing the deal, without a call to say he was leaving.[4][5][6] A final phone exchange of “fuck you” followed.[6] After Baldwin’s arrest over the Rust shooting, Kiriakou declined to console him: “He killed that woman. Somebody’s got to pay for this. Even if it was an accident, the buck has to stop somewhere.”[7][8]
