Bill Barr served as U.S. Attorney General during the first Trump administration. Sean Davis, appearing on the same Megyn Kelly panel as John Kiriakou, describes him as “maybe not the most loyal guy, but very, very competent,” noting that Barr dispatched the Mueller probe as special counsel but “kind of fell apart at the end,” failing to follow through on what Davis calls “Russiagate accountability.”[1]
Davis says Barr and Trump ultimately had “a breakup,” and that this shaped Trump’s subsequent choice of Pam Bondi as Attorney General — someone Davis says Trump wanted to be “loyal above all,” rather than merely ideologically aligned.[1]
