**Brett McGurk** is a senior U.S. diplomat. [John Kiriakou](https://www.kiripedia.org/wiki/john-kiriakou) cites reporting that McGurk was caught on top of a U.S. embassy — *"the whole Middle East knows,"* he says — while McGurk was in charge of the war against ISIS.[1] Kiriakou offers the episode as a further example of the [CIA and diplomatic adultery culture](https://www.kiripedia.org/wiki/cia-adultery-culture) he considers a genuine counterintelligence vulnerability, calling it "quite a vulnerability" and "a problem that needs to be fixed."[1]
