*A WikiLeaks associate discussed on the same panel as John Kiriakou; the anecdote about meeting him via the Chaos Computer Club was told by fellow panelist John Goetz, a Der Spiegel journalist — not by Kiriakou himself.*

**Daniel Domscheit-Berg**, an early WikiLeaks associate who later left the project, is mentioned in a 2026 Berlin panel discussion that included [John Kiriakou](https://www.kiripedia.org/wiki/john-kiriakou). The anecdote about meeting Domscheit-Berg through the [Chaos Computer Club](https://www.kiripedia.org/wiki/chaos-computer-club-wikileaks) — in which he is introduced as "Daniel Schmitt" before being identified as Domscheit-Berg, and described as having "chickened out" of WikiLeaks soon after — was told by a different panelist, [Der Spiegel](https://www.kiripedia.org/wiki/der-spiegel) journalist John Goetz, not by Kiriakou.[1]

No source in the corpus captures Kiriakou himself speaking about Daniel Domscheit-Berg.
