*The Washington museum of espionage. John Kiriakou, who gives private tours of it, describes its room on the CIA torture program as a video loop in which only the torturers are given a voice, and in which he, the officer who exposed the program, is never mentioned.*

- **Location:** Washington, D.C.
- **Kiriakou's connection:** Gives tours; visited two weeks before the August 2026 account
- **The torture room:** A small dedicated room running a video loop
- **Who appears in the loop:** The torturers, giving their side
- **Who does not:** Kiriakou himself
- **His verdict:** "It's sickening"

The **International Spy Museum** is the Washington museum of espionage. [John Kiriakou](https://www.kiripedia.org/wiki/john-kiriakou) has an ongoing relationship with it, he mentions having gone two weeks earlier to give a family a tour.[1]

## The torture room

His objection concerns a small room dedicated to the [CIA torture program](https://www.kiripedia.org/wiki/cia-torture-program-whistleblowing). It runs a loop of videos, and Kiriakou's complaint is about whose voices are in it: *"the only people that they're looping are the torturers. And I'm never mentioned in that in that video. Only the pro-torture people uh are giving their side of the story. It's it's sickening."*[1]

He raises it while answering a question about which of his former colleagues were complicit rather than merely silent, and it functions in his account as evidence of the same pattern: that the officers who ran the program have kept the ability to narrate it, several of them having written books arguing that torture was a good idea and that it saved lives.[2]
