The Jack Murphy NATO sabotage story is John Kiriakou’s account of an investigation by podcaster Jack Murphy, host of the Team House podcast, who spent over a year reporting a story — drawing on CIA and Army intelligence sources — alleging that the CIA worked through a NATO partner to conduct sabotage inside Russia, including munitions-warehouse fires and rail explosions.[1]
Kiriakou says that before publication, the editor of a major outlet Murphy was working with held a conference call with the CIA’s deputy director, who denied the sabotage claim entirely and instead blamed “rogue Ukrainians” for the incidents. The editor then demanded the story be gutted to reflect the denial; Murphy refused, and the story was killed at that outlet before he self-published it elsewhere.[2]
