Abetting, not just overlooking
Kiriakou says he believes Wolfowitz and Feith, along with figures like David Addington and Scooter Libby, did not merely fail to take Israeli counterintelligence activity seriously — he thinks they actively helped abet Israeli counterintelligence operations against the United States, reasoning that officials who see the U.S.-Israel relationship as so close as to be functionally one figure that any information Israel obtains through spying is information Washington intended to give it anyway.[2]
