The difficulty he acknowledges
He did not treat the case as uncomplicated. The alleged incident dated to the mid-1990s, and Kiriakou raised the defendant’s problem on its own terms: by all accounts the two went into a dressing room and had sex, and the question was whether it was consensual. “I mean how does Donald Trump defend himself from that? I don’t know.” The answer offered — “You can’t defend yourself” — drew his agreement that it was “kind of a problem.”[3][4]
