Kiriakou on animated television records what John Kiriakou says he watches, volunteered in July 2025 when a viewer paid to ask what he made of South Park’s treatment of Donald Trump.
He had recorded the episode and watched it: “I DVR it. It was freaking hilarious.” He declined to spoil it and noted in passing that the show’s creators had signed a $1.5bn streaming agreement days earlier — “God bless them.”[1]
The admission widened from there. “I still watch South Park. I will admit to you, I watch Family Guy, Simpsons, South Park, and Bob’s Burgers. I love all the animated shows.”[1][2]
Among them he ranks South Park first, and on a specific ground. Watching Family Guy with a housemate he finds himself asking how they get away with a joke; with South Park “it’s shocking to me that they’re able to do what they’re doing.” He treats it as comedy rather than provocation — “it’s all for a good laugh” — and thinks it “great.”[2]
Two episodes he thought worth owning rather than streaming: the Mormons episode and the lice episode, both bought years earlier, and the second of which “I still laugh out loud every time I watch it.”[3]
His favourite work by the same creators is not television at all. “The thing that those two guys did that I love the best is still Team America: World Police. I can never get over how — I’ve seen it more times than I could count. It’s one of the funniest I’ve seen in my life.”[4]
