Netanyahu arrest poll

The 2026 survey finding that a majority of Americans — not a plurality — support the arrest of Benjamin Netanyahu, a figure John Kiriakou notes is higher than the share who supported arresting Nicolás Maduro and which, per CNN, represents a fifty-point move in American opinion over five years.

The Netanyahu arrest poll is the survey John Kiriakou leads with in July 2026 as evidence that American opinion on Israel has broken. He is precise about the threshold: “a shocking new poll showing that a majority, not a plurality, a majority of Americans support the arrest of Benjamin Netanyahu.”[1]

Two comparisons give it scale. The number is “significantly higher than the share of Americans who supported the arrest of Nicholas Maduro; and according to CNN “it represents a 50% point move just over the last 5 years.”[2]

Returning to the figure later in the episode, Kiriakou breaks the coalition down and uses it to pose a longer question about the alliance: “where in the world America’s relationship with Israel is headed. Where will it be in 5, 10, 30 years?” His answer to the present state of it is that “the vast majority of Democrats, the vast majority of independents, and a sizeable number of Republicans think that Benjamin Netanyahu committed war crimes and that he should be prosecuted.”[3][4]
