Tom Alexandrovich

Senior Israeli cyber security official arrested in Las Vegas in August 2025 on multiple counts of child pornography after being caught in an undercover police sting targeting child sex predators, and immediately permitted to board a plane back to Israel — a case John Kiriakou uses as a live illustration of the rule that Israel does not extradite Jews.

Tom Artium Alexandrovich is the Israeli cyber security official whose arrest and immediate departure from the United States John Kiriakou discussed in August 2025, at the prompting of a viewer, as a case that had drawn more attention than such cases usually do.

The arrest

The head of Israeli cyber defence in the United States was arrested in Las Vegas on the preceding Saturday and charged with multiple counts of child pornography. He was immediately allowed to leave, got on a plane, and flew back to Israel.[1]

Kiriakou supplied the name and the detail: Tom Artium Alexandrovich, a senior cyber security official, who had been ensnared in an undercover sting operation run by local police against child sex predators.[2] His summary of the man was dry — “he sounds like he’s accused of being a lovely fellow.”[2]

Why he was able to leave

The explanation offered on air, and which Kiriakou did not dispute, was that Israel does not extradite Jews.[1] That rule is one Kiriakou has set out elsewhere at length, and he treated Alexandrovich as a second instance of a pattern rather than an anomaly: he introduced the topic by noting that an accused paedophile had just been allowed to flee to Israel, that this had happened before, and that it would happen again — the only difference being that people were paying more attention than usual.[3]

The victims

The question Kiriakou pressed was the one the coverage was not asking. “And what about the victims? I mean, presumably these victims are American children.”[2]

The case fits into the wider argument he was making that week about Israel becoming increasingly isolated, and about the accumulation of episodes in which the ordinary reciprocity between allied legal systems does not appear to operate.[3]
