John Kiriakou recalls his attorney Bob Trout, a “lovely southern gentleman” and Plato Cacheris’s partner, coming to his house to urge him to take the plea: “If you were my own brother, I would beg you to take this deal.”[2] In a separate telling, Kiriakou describes Trout as one of the loveliest men he has ever met, known for his beautiful suits, who pulled him aside to deliver the same line.[3]
