did seven years in an embassy and five in a cell for less than what KiriPedia publishes every day.
When they come for us, they will come with a bag over the head, a ship with no flag, and a destination on no chart. The website goes down. The archive vanishes. History depends on your rectal cavity.
The whole encyclopedia (every article, every transcript, every word John has ever spoken into a microphone) fits on a $4 flash drive the size of a fingernail. Not in the cloud. In you.
John did 23 months in federal prison. As a convicted felon he is still barred from voting, from keeping and bearing arms, and from the federal pension he earned over 14 years at the CIA. A pardon restores all three.
Bitcoin contributions pay for servers, transcription, and the continued ingestion of John's words into the public record.
KiriPedia is not a nonprofit. Honestly, this isn't even about the money.

The house of cards theory

John Kiriakou's account of the strategic premise behind the 2026 Iran war, that decapitating the Iranian government would bring the whole state down, and of why it fails. To win, he argues, the United States would have to destroy the entire Iranian government and military and install a puppet; Iran wins simply by surviving.
The house of cards theory is the strategic premise John Kiriakou identifies behind the 2026 Iran war, and the reason he considers the war unwinnable.
Asked what mad-genius strategy might be hiding behind Donald Trump’s conduct of the war, Kiriakou answered that the genius was borrowed and mistaken: “I believe that he believed Netanyahu’s propaganda that if we decapitate the Iranian government, the whole thing comes down like a house of cards. And I think that he believed that was the genius strategy. And instead, he’s gotten us into a war that we’re not getting out of.”[1]
The same premise was sold before the war began: “it was the Israelis who convinced Trump that Iran was a house of cards.”[2]
What winning would require
Kiriakou sets the victory condition explicitly. “To win, we need to wipe out the entire Iranian government and military, which is not possible. And install a pro-American and pro-Israeli government. Essentially a puppet government. It’s not going to happen. And anything short of that is an American-Israeli loss.”[1][3]
The Iranian victory condition is far cheaper: “What the Iranians need to win is just to survive the war. And they’re going to survive.”[3]
On the claim that the war would liberate Iranians, he was equally short: “The Iranians don’t want our liberation. They’ve been clear about it from the beginning. We overstepped. We overreached like we always do. And like we always do, we have no exit strategy.”[4]
